Ireland

A week-long road trip

Ireland is enchanting.

My husband and I were blessed by a week of sun (we even got sunburned!) during a road trip in May 2018. We landed in Dublin from a red eye flight, headed straight to Galway, where we took a refreshing nap on a patch of grass near the river, and had a lovely time driving down the Wild Atlantic Way and along the southern shores, ending with a couple of pub-hopping nights in Dublin.

We saw all the highlights, and even bought some crystal drinkware in Waterford, but my favorite was the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. I had seen the cliffs years before on a post-college Europe trip with a close childhood friend, and I can say that it doesn't get old.

From my intro and the sites marked in the map below, you can figure out our route. I've also color-coded which sites we enjoyed and which ones we felt more neutral about. I highly recommend a road trip like this and stay in the cozy bed and breakfasts to experience some fantastic Irish hospitality (and breakfasts)!
